If you had to ask me what the significant difference is, I would say it is in the way I have learnt to look at myself. Not as a dark mouth consuming the world but as a voice among many. Last year, I needed darkness to learn the art of excision and living when your world is almost all grey. This year I want to meet that same world through the lens of seeing it exactly as it is and not feeling the urge to check the wound. I have many other things to do while things quietly repair themselves.
